ISPGaya, or Gaya Polytechnic Institute is a Higher Education institution located in Vila Nova de Gaia (Portugal). Miguel started as an Assistant Professor in 2005 and become Adjunct Professor in 2010, following the completion of his Master’s Degree in Social Work.

During this time he was a lecturer on the Social Work Bachelor’s Degree, having assumed several management roles.

MAIN TASKS / ACHIEVEMENTS

• Coordinator of the Bachelor in Social Work (2007/2009)
• Lead the creation, and then coordinated, the Technological Specialization Course in Social Work and Community Development (2009/2011)
• Member of the team that created the Master’s Degree in Socio-Educational Intervention (2009/2010)
• Member of the team which conducted the adequacy of the Degree in Social and Community Intervention (now Bachelor in Social Work) to the Bologna Process (2005/2006)
• Supervised students’ field placements and final dissertations
• Member of Pedagogical Council (2007/2009)
• Member of the Scientific Council (2007/2009)
• Coordinator of the courses in the area of Social and Community Intervention / Social Services (2005/2007/)
