UTAD, or Univeristy of Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro is a Higher Education institution located in Vila Real (Portugal). Miguel started as a monitor of the social work degree in 2001 and following the completion of his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, he became part of the Department of Psychology and Education. responsible for lecturing several subjects within the Social Work Bachelor’s Degree and in the Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering of Rehabilitation and Human Accessibility

• Member of the team which conducted the adequacy of the Bachelor’s in Social Work to the Bologna Process (2004/2005)
• Member of the Steering Committee of the Bachelor in Social Work (2003/2005)
