This is a photo of the “execution room” of the former KGB prison in Riga, Latvia. I guess the name of the room tells everything we need to know about the goal of this room.
The floor is uneven in order to be able to be cleaned with a bucket full of water. The dark plastic panel covering two of the walls was there to prevent the walls to be “paint” with the victims’ blood.
Glad that this is a place you can now visit, as it shows that what happened is past and makes us want to work together to make sure this will not happen again.
Concerned as I see some politicians, with ideals closed to the ones that led to this, on the verge of being elected as president of some countries.
